Election Information
Water Board Election
Polling place: 503 N Hollywood, open 7AM to 7 PM
Elections for the Water Board are held in May of odd-numbered years. Board members serve staggered four-year terms. This year two board members, Bill Connelly and Gary Spivak, are in the middle of their terms and will continue on the board. The other three board positions are up for election. Two incumbents, Maryann Snyder and Davina Dolph, are leaving the board and we thank them for the time and effort they have put into the job these past years. The remaining incumbent, Nancy Morehouse, is running for re-election, along with four other candidates for the three open positions. Here is the list of candidates.
To be a board member you must be a registered voter in Colorado and live within the boundaries of the Sunset Water District. The board meets monthly to review current activity and financial status. The board selects a president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer from among its members. Members may also take on specific roles, such as supervising maintenance and repairs, water testing, or communications.
The election is being run under rules set by the State of Colorado. All registered voters who live or own property within the district boundary are eligible to vote. You will be voting for three of the listed candidates. Voting will be in person on a paper ballot at a single polling place, 503 N Hollywood St. Polls will be open from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm on May 6. Absentee ballots are available from the election official. The election official this year is Gary Spivak.
